(Madeline Pado/DD) The Downtown student government Senate unanimously voted Friday to Read story Tempers flared during the Downtown student government Senate meeting Friday while representatives discussed potential alterations to the new election code. Read story As the fall 2011 semester comes to a close, the Downtown student government is still without a third branch of government. Read story Students on the Downtown campus passed a referendum Thursday to enact the universal constitution and election code. Read story Voting on the Downtown student government universal constitution and electoral code will be extended Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. because of technical issues that crashed MyASU Tuesday afternoon. Read story In an attempt to help Downtown students better understand the constitution before they vote, the Downtown Devil broke down changes in the referendum into several major points and how they would potentially affect Downtown student government operations and the Downtown student body. Read story For now, as a Downtown student government representative fighting to keep my constituents’ experiences and opportunities on campus the best possible, I urge members of our student body to take a minute out of their busy day to vote “no” on the universal constitution referendum. Read story The implementation of a new elections code would establish a Supreme Court where all campaign disputes will be heard. Elections on our campus in the past have been plagued with controversy and bias – none of which is conductive to furthering the campus as whole.
