If you’re craving corned beef and cabbage, green beer and Irish cocktails, you may have some luck of the Irish this weekend. Downtown residents can celebrate the holiday with food, music and events. Irish or not, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this weekend at these seven locations.
1. Irish Cultural Center:
The Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library are hosting a celebration with activities all day exploring Irish heritage with movies, crafts and more. An all-ages Ceili social dance will be held at 6 p.m. Tickets are available here.
The noodle bar will be serving up Irish-inspired dishes in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. There will be a unique corned beef and cabbage bowl called the McDrop, and special drinks and cocktails will available.
3. St. Patrick’s Day Recovery Bike Party:
Syndicate Bike Club and Kapu Kruisers BC, custom bike clubs are hosting a bike ride through downtown. The event will kick off at 6 p.m. at DeSoto Central Market, and the bike ride will start at 7:30 p.m. They will ride on to ThirdSpace, Crescent Ballroom and Seamus McCaffrey’s before returning to DeSoto. 4. Club Dwtwn:
The club’s Saturday Latin night will have an Irish twist this weekend. Admission will only be $10 per person and women will be free before midnight.
5. Crescent Ballroom:
The Blunt Club, a long-running hip hop show, is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day event as part of its monthly pop up. There will be art, beats and DJs including Pickster, Melo and Element. There will be art by Chuck Taylors, Erika Jaynes, RVSO and Jay Smiley and beats performed by Books Guild. The event will be for ages 21 and older and tickets are available here.
6. Copper Blues:
The restaurant will have green beer, Irish carbomb cocktails, corn beef empanadas and deep fried shepherd’s pie in honor of the holiday.
7. Tilted Kilt:
Friday all day
The downtown location of the pub chain will have a special St. Patrick’s-themed menu called the Irish Hooley menu. The festive menu, available from Friday until April 2, includes Irish dishes like corned beef and cabbage. Special cocktails and green beer will be served as well. Music will be provided by bagpipers and DJs.
