The biggest weekend of the year for art in downtown Phoenix will soon be upon us.
The 26th Annual Art Detour will take place on March 8 and 9 throughout the entire downtown area. This is right after March’s First Friday art walk events, making the weekend a great time to go out and learn about downtown’s art galleries and exhibits.
More than 100 venues will participate in Art Detour, many of them presenting new exhibits and events. These venues include everything from galleries to cultural venues, restaurants to local music venues.
In addition to Art Detour, the first-ever Viva Phoenix music festival will take place downtown on March 7. The music festival features 70 national and local acts playing in 14 downtown venues. Some of these bands will perform in unique downtown locations, including a stage at CityScape and Hotel San Carlos.
Downtown Devil prepared a map presenting most of these participating venues. It should hopefully serve as a tool for those looking to plan their art-filled weekend properly.
