
It seems a resemblance to life before COVID-19 is finally here. Now it’s time to tour Phoenix again, rediscover art and explore new exhibits.
During the month of March there are a number of unique and powerful art exhibits to check out.
Cobra Flute Projects
Join Cobra Flute Projects in its first in-person show of the year. Artists from Arizona and Los Angeles display their work for the “My Body My Truth” exhibit.
“My Body My Truth” will be held at the Cobra Flute Projects with the Association of Hysteric Curators. The opening reception is on March 18 from 6-10 p.m. There will be a chance to meet the curators the following day, March 19 from 1-6 p.m.
The gallery will be open March 20 from 2-8 p.m. and March 26 from 1-6 p.m. Appointments must be made to visit the gallery from March 19-31.
The closing reception for the exhibit is April 1 from 6-10 p.m.
“My Body My Truth” encompasses the ongoing fight for reproductive rights and gender identity through works of art that will be displayed on paper, expressing “choice, truth and personal agency,” according to a news release.

Herberger Theater Center art gallery
“The Austin Perspective” will be displayed at the Herberger Theater Center art gallery at from March 4 until March 27. Leslie Austin shows her perspective on life and the world around her.
“From Darkness to Light” will also be displayed at the gallery from Mar. 4 until Mar. 27. This exhibit with the message to inspire and empower those who are fighting cancer and those who have gone into remission. This exhibit is in partnership with the Cancer Support Community Arizona.
Art from both exhibits will be available for purchase.

FOUND:RE Contemporary and FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel
“Focal Points: Minimal VS Maximal” opened in December 2021 under FOUND:RE Contemporary and FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel. This is the last month to see a collection of 79 local artists and their creations illustrating movement through use of either minimalism or maximalism.
“LESS IS MORE: A minimalism Exhibition” will also be on display until the end of March. This exhibit features two artists, Lucas Knowles and Mary Meyer. These pieces explore art in its bare form to show the beauty in minimalism.
Wander into FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel to find a number of other contemporary exhibits on display.

Phoenix Art Museum
The most recent installation, “Breaking Up” is a modern art exhibit illustrating the idea of deconstruction and fragmentation.
In this exhibit the artists utilize everyday objects in a manner to embody the deeper emotions of trauma, loss and abandonment. These are the types of experiences that reshape our perception and memory.
“Breaking Up” will be on display through the end of August.
