It’s the workout trend sweeping downtown Phoenix, now with a competitive edge. Rush Club competitions pit athletes who train in CrossFit and other functional fitness gyms against each other in an on-stage survival of the fittest. The Final Rush event Saturday saw over 400 spectators in the Pressroom in downtown’s warehouse district.

Just as Core Crossift had to move to a bigger space this month, Rush Club also switched venues recently to accommodate the increase in spectators. Rush Club will be one year old in February, and founders AJ Richards and Stacey Snyder have big plans for the next season.
