Homeless veterans in downtown Phoenix may have a tough time locating the services out there that are catered specifically to their needs. Project H3 Vets, an initiative by the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness, seeks to connect vets with services and organizations by conducting a three-day long survey each year.

Organizations like the Madison Street Veterans Association in turn provide veterans with job opportunities and temporary housing. The organization runs the MANA House on Willetta Street near Seventh Street, a 53-bed transitional housing facility. James Wininger and Ryan Anderson are two of MANA’s current residents.

Listen to hear their story, and more about the 2013 Project H3 Vets survey.
