He is now a State Senate candidate, running on a platform that centers on supporting entrepreneurship and education in Arizona. McArthur, who graduated from the Walter Cronkite School in December of 2012, is running for the Arizona State Senate in legislative district 16.

District 4 candidates, both next generation politicians, differ on issues of taxes

The residents of Phoenix City Council District 4 will vote for their next representative Nov. 5. The election pits Justin Johnson, son of former Phoenix mayor Paul Johnson, against Laura Pastor, daughter of Rep. Ed Pastor. Johnson and Pastor are vying to succeed incumbent Tom Simplot, who has served as a council member since 2003.
