Revisions to the ASASUD election code took up more than half of the Senate meeting on Friday. The debate covered changes to the election code, relating to campaigning through printed material, use of social media during campaigns and the role of the election committee during the campaign.
The Arizona Students’ Association is holding the 34th annual Lobby Day at the Arizona Capitol where students from around the state will lobby for issues important to them on Wednesday.
As of Friday, Barrett, the Honors College has one less student government representative. Near the end of ASASUD’s meeting Friday, Sen. Dustin Volz, the longest-serving senate member, announced his resignation, effective immediately.
The BOA’s ruling on Nov. 4 resulted in the creation of the Ad Hoc Downtown Dog Park Citizen’s committee. This committee was created by the city with the purpose of finding a suitable location for a dog park other than the land next to Taylor Place.
ASASUD Sen. Andrew Schmiedeler resigned from his position on Wednesday, several days after three senators filed an impeachment case against him. Neither the resignation nor the impeachment was necessary, however, since Schmiedeler already stood in violation to the ASASUD constitution.
