In the first of an ongoing planned series of talks, Leonard Downie Jr. and Geoffrey King spoke on attacks to freedom of the press Tuesday night at the Cronkite School. King represented the Committee to Protect Journalists, which releases an annual report on the same topic.
Students attending the U of A College of Medicine -- Phoenix are about to receive more realistic synthetic cadavers thanks to a partnership between the school and Florida-based cadaver manufacturer SynDaver Labs. Mayor Greg Stanton described the new collaboration as a sign of growth in the college.
Phoenix city officials and community members gathered to give feedback on the Adams Street Activation Study that proposes a restructure of the street from Second Street to Central Avenue. The final report, compiled by architectural firm Gensler, will be presented to City Council in October.
The city of Phoenix is moving forward with a study that would determine the effectiveness of a pedestrian mall on Adams Street between Second Street and Central Avenue. The city council has allocated $73,060 for one year of consulting with the architectural firm Gensler for the Adams Street Activation Study.
