The second annual Phoenix Festival of the Arts was held Friday to Sunday at Margaret T. Hance Park, giving local artists another opportunity to come together and work on the large-scale murals that are a centerpiece of the three-day festival. For this year’s festival, Medina said two murals would be completed with the help of 120 local artists. While one mural was worked on just as it was the previous year, the other had a more direct theme.
Self-proclaimed foodies Jay Veniard and Jessica Combest have brought their appreciation for food to downtown Phoenix through their Taste It Tours and their sales of olive oil and balsamics at their store in the Orpheum Lofts, Urban Olive Oils and Balsamics.
Several hundred people stopped by the Arizona Center Sunday to treat their pets to a day dedicated to man’s best friend while participating in a fundraiser for a nonprofit organization that finds homes for boxer dogs.
Hundreds of downtown Phoenix residents and employees gathered on Friday at the Arizona Center for Empty Bowls, an event that takes place only once a year at the Arizona Center and is set up by the non-profit Waste Not and several other sponsors.
