The body of an unidentified man was discovered at the bottom of the Arizona Center parking garage located on the southwest corner of Fifth and Fillmore streets at approximately 6 p.m. on Monday, said Sgt. Trent Crump, spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department.

Crump said Phoenix police are “pretty sure” the man jumped off the nine-story parking structure in an effort to commit suicide.

Jean Ahsmuhs, marketing manager of the Arizona Center, said similar incidents have occurred at the parking structure in the past but none in at least the last three and a half years.

Phoenix police Detective David McElroy said homicide had not been ruled out.

“It is a death investigation at this point,” McElroy said.
