Multiple sources have confirmed the Cano-Hillyard campaign has been disqualified due to elections code violations.
The disqualification is expected to result in the election of junior Christian Vasquez as ASASUD president for 2010-2011.
According to the ASASUD website, the Cano/Hillyard campaign received a third elections code violation resulting in a total 10 penalty points. Candidates are disqualified if they accumulate nine penalty points, according to the ASASUD elections code.
The Cano/Hillyard campaign has confirmed it will contest the disqualification decision if election results tomorrow show they received the most votes.
