New apartment complex slated to begin construction in midtown Phoenix in December
Construction on a four story, 266-unit apartment complex in Midtown called Elevation Central is slated to begin this December on the southwest corner of Central and Highland Avenues. Verdura Residential is the residential development company in charge of the complex, which will be located near two light rail stations - Campbell and Central, and Central and Camelback.
Downtown dance clubs aim to appeal to ASU students with weekly 18, older nights
The Bar on Central is currently open to anyone 18 years or older once a week. Its College Night, which began in mid-October along with the bar's grand opening, happens every Wednesday starting at 10 p.m.
Roosevelt Row to brighten up with more street lights in next 2 years
The city will add approximately 35 new street and pedestrian lights along Roosevelt Street from Central Avenue to Fourth Street in April 2014 and from Fourth to Seventh streets in April 2015. Local businesses and community associations anticipate increased business and street traffic while making sure the lights fit the community's growing identity.
Maizie’s Cafe and Bistro donates to monthly charity, builds community support
The donation program at Mazie's began in July. The cafe chooses a charity every month and donates ten percent of its proceeds every Wednesday to that chosen charity.
