City budget proposal threatens to close Verde Park recreation center

As a consequence of the City of Phoenix's efforts to balance its budget, several recreational and community hubs are on the chopping block. One such place is the recreational center in Verde Park, which offers services to underprivileged youth in the Garfield neighborhood.
