The scene begins with Sarah Chalke, who plays Clarissa, a girl from Beverly Hills, nervously peering into an office. It continues with Chalke pulling out canned cheese, baby-sized moccasins and presenting the editor-in-chief in the scene with the exact lotion that she wears.

The scene ends abruptly when actor and director Timothy Busfield calls cut. He decides he wants the camera to tighten the frame around Chalke’s face.

“And…GO!” Busfield calls on the set of his latest production, “Maneater,” on Wednesday afternoon. The scene begins again.

Chalke, who most people know as Elliot from the hit comedy series “Scrubs,” flitters in and out of the office, laughing and dancing between scenes. In jest, she puts the lotion bottle in her cleavage before taking it out and saying “It’s too much, too much?” Chalke, whose character is four and half months pregnant, is wearing a purple and black flowing dress, with a black cardigan and wedges with black straps.

“The movie is about a Beverly Hills socialite. She’s kind of a gold digger, looking for money. Anyhow, she plans a wedding without a husband,” on-set director Larry Koszakovsky said.

“Maneater” began filming at the beginning of February. Earlier this month the crew filmed at the Sheraton Hotel and Wednesday night they are expected to film at the Icehouse Arts and Entertainment on West Jackson Street.

The main scene shot today in the Cronkite building was filmed in Dean Christopher Callahan’s office.

The mini-series is set to premier in 2009.
