Hosts Jayson Chesler and Miguel Otarola were joined by Catrina Kahler and Jill Bernstein from Artlink Phoenix to discuss this weekend’s 26th annual Art Detour. Kahler serves as the president of the Artlink Board of Directors and Bernstein is the board’s secretary.
Kahler and Bernstein discussed Artlink’s history, the evolution of Art Detour and its place in downtown Phoenix as a whole. The role of last weekend’s Art d’Core Gala and attempts to connect art with the community as a two-way street were addressed, too.
The hosts also discussed Viva Phoenix music festival. The event will feature 70 national and local bands playing 14 stages around downtown. The locations of Viva Phoenix and Art Detour can both be found on the Downtown Devil’s interactive map of this weekend.
