This week Devil’s Pass discussed a pair of locations seeing unique uses. The Phoenix Hostel has transformed into a hub for cultural events in the last year and a half, while Combine Studios is hosting Phoenix’s only Spanish-language bookstore until June.

Neither Libreria Donceles nor the Phoenix Youth Hostel are standard fare in arts and entertainment, so hosts Miguel Otarola and Jayson Chesler broke down their niches within Phoenix. The nature of Phoenix being an arts and culture destination was also a point of discussion.

A number of Third Friday and other weekend events were also previewed. Highlights included Earth Day 2 at the Alwun House and Chimerical at Modified Arts.

For event, theater and concert previews along with in-depth discussion, tune in to the live show every Thursday at 4:30 p.m. on the Blaze 1330 AM.
