Downtown Phoenix has seen a massive amount of development over the last few years. To help you stay informed, we’re now keeping a list of all current developments within downtown, which will be updated monthly to reflect changes.
The woman-owned brewery will open this spring on Fifth and Roosevelt streets. It will feature 14 taps and a dog-friendly courtyard that it will share with MADE Art Boutique and Eye Lounge.
The Cambria Hotel
A once vacant plot of land on the northwest corner of Third and Portland street is now home to a 7-story hotel with 127 rooms, a rooftop pool and a restaurant named Poppy. The project is part of a larger group of developments operating in the area north of Roosevelt Row.
The former Coors Brewing Distribution Center has been transformed into a 92,202-square-foot creative office complex in the Warehouse District, complete with a coffee bar and outdoor dining spaces.
The Portrait at Hance Park
A new residential development on Third and Willetta streets is now leasing 325 residential units. The property also includes ground-floor retail and an elevated pedestrian bridge.
Punch Bowl Special
The Denver-based entertainment and restaurant concept is projected to open this spring on the northeast corner of Second and Garfield streets. It will feature 22,000 square feet of space, including a 360-degree bar, outdoor patio space and the brand’s Putt Club, an indoor mini-golf experience.
Urban Living on Fillmore (ULF)
Native American Connections has and transformed an empty lot into 60 affordable housing units. The housing project is on Second Avenue between McKinley and Fillmore streets.
The 19-story residential tower is now leasing 312 apartments and incorporates the Stewart Motors/Circles Records original glass showroom as a main focal point to the entrance.
The Gateway Community College project is under construction on Fifth Avenue and Van Buren Street and will feature 16,000 square feet of work space for students and the community to work with metal/wood working as well as arts and design.
The residence under construction on the southeast corner of East Polk Street and North Central Avenue will become a 23-story apartment building, with 320 rental units, ground floor retail shops and a rooftop deck, and is projected to open this November.
AC Hotel at Arizona Center
The planned 14-story, 200-room hotel by Marriott and developer LaPour Partners, will feature a rooftop pool and lounge.
ASU — Innovation Dorm
The 16-story student residential building on the corner of First Avenue and McKinley Street will include 400 student housing units, classroom space and a vibrant ground floor.
225 W. Madison
The former Madison Street Jail will become downtown’s largest adaptive reuse project and provide over 264,000 square feet of office space for the county’s attorneys.
This historic structure built in 1922 and located on Second Avenue and Monroe Street will get a refresh. Equus Capital Partners is renovating the structure to provide over 58,000 square feet of office space and will feature restaurants and a speakeasy.
805 N. Fifth Street
By the end of 2020, ASU’s latest addition to its Biomedical Campus will include 225,000 square feet of office and lab space to the 30-acre campus. It will also signify the completion of the Wexford Science and Technology project.
Fiesta Bowl Play at Hance Park
In December, a 20,000-square-foot park will be built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Fiesta Bowl. Park updates will include splash pads, shade structures, more trees and a playground equipment.
