Downtown Digest: Fitness, Art, and Haunted Houses

Hey, downtown Phoenix, how are you? It’s the first week of October! Wow – 2020 is nearly over, can you believe it? For those of you who are in college, I hope you’re getting through midterms well. I know for me, I’ll be studying extra hard this week. You can do this, and don’t worry! Everything will be just fine. Alright, let’s go right into the event for this week.

FitPHX Virtual Fall into Fitness
Did you know that FitPHX’s goal is to make Phoenix one of the healthiest cities in the nation? So yes, despite the pandemic, they have created a virtual fitness boot camp this fall! There’s a 10-week session that begins tomorrow, and another 4-week session starting on Oct. 19. Don’t worry if you’ve never done a fitness class because these classes are designed for all ages, experience levels, and it’s family-friendly. Click on the link above for registration! A zoom link will be sent upon six to eight hours before class begins.

Public Art Behind the Curtain

Want to go “behind the scenes” of what it takes to put out public art? This is a 5-week long workshop where you get the chance to hear from experts on how they make prominent art pieces for the city of Phoenix.

Rosson House Museum

Yes, it’s been back for some time now! For those of you who didn’t know, the Rosson House Museum is up and running again. This is an 1895 Queen Anne Victorian house museum that depicts the history of Phoenix. Be sure to register online for a 60 minute guided tour of this beautiful house!

The Farish House

Drive up and grab a precooked meal of mushroom risoto with braised beef or a vegetarian option. The Farish House is hosting a drive-thru this Tuesday! Vegetarian options are available.
