For those of us who share a passion for both eating delicious food and enjoying a casual sports game, Majerle’s Sports Grill is a paradise. As the name alludes, the sports grill is owned by Phoenix Suns legend Dan Majerle, who infiltrated the restaurant business with the same hard work ethic he laid out on the court.
Located at the intersection of South Second and East Washington streets, just north of the U.S. Airways Center, Majerle’s hosts an atmosphere that accommodates a wide variety of hungry customers. Whether in the mood for a gourmet burger, a salad or a juicy chicken sandwich, Majerle’s has whatever the beast in your belly finds most appetizing.
Unlike most restaurants that have a vast and expansively bland medley of menu items, each of the options to select from Majerle’s menu is deeply flavorful and absurdly pleasing to the taste buds. As a trademark, the majority of items on Majerle’s menu take the names of classic athletes, such as the M.J. Cordon Bleu, Sir Charles Chicken Sandwich and Big Al’s Rueben to mention a few.
Majerle’s sports theme continues beyond the varied menu. The entire sports grill is decorated with high-definition 37-inch plasma screen televisions mounted on the walls, bar and anywhere seen fit. No matter where you sit, you will be able to comfortably face forward and watch whatever game is playing. There is no longer a need to strain your neck craning to see the top ten plays or insidiously scooting into the seat facing the television — Majerle’s has you covered.
Immersed in an urban setting, this classy sports grill has found its niche in the downtown community. Located only a few blocks south of Taylor Place, and with everything on the menu at a feasible price for any penny-pinching college student, Majerle’s is the place to go to enjoy delectable food in a fantastic environment.
