Wednesday marked the Global Day of Discovery for Renaissance Hotels and Resorts. One hundred and fourteen Renaissance properties celebrated in 18 countries and 5 continents, the downtown Phoenix hotel included, according to a press release. The downtown Phoenix Renaissance hired local artist Hugo Medina to paint a mural on the hotel in the alleyway between Adams and Monroe streets.
The mural displayed two hands holding the world, symbolizing both that the world is in everyone’s hands and that the Renaissance allows people to explore different cultures, according to the press release.
Throughout the day other events were held, including musical performances, artists painting in the lobby and a cooking demonstration by the Renaissance executive chef.
