Musical groups, local vendors, dance companies and community organizations gathered on the street in front of the Herberger Theater Center on Nov. 5 for the 7th annual Herberger Theater Festival of the Arts. The event was a mix of dance performances with international influences and film showcases by ASU’s School of Film, Dance & Theatre.

Some of the outdoor performances by the Arathi School of Dance, and the Rhythm Edition band entertained pockets of the crowd as attendees wandered between vendors selling products ranging from candles to local book publications. Children could paint their own butterfly wings or a masterpiece on canvas, while pet adoptions offered a cluster of dogs the chance to find homes.

Arts organizations, including the Alwun House Foundation, Ballet Arizona and the Heard Museum congregated in one wing of the Phoenix Convention Center, where attendees could catch a break from the heat and learn about Arizona’s art community.
