The Days We Left Behind

American surrealist Geoffrey Gersten is a Phoenix native whose paintings often touch on rural themes. For February’s Third Friday, Modified Arts will display 13 of his dystopian originals. The pieces center around juxtapositions of contrasting images: childlike fantasies with a dark spin, frosty landscapes with hidden absurdist features. These tainted and sugary influences create settings destined to catch your attention and keep you staring.
