Noches Erotica, an event celebrating sex and eroticism in the Latin American community, featured nude body painting, erotic poetry in both English and Spanish and a live python.

Nov. 19 marked Alwun House’s fifth Noches Erotica show. Kim Moody, founder of Alwun House, said the event is the Latin version of their annual February exotic art show.

“The Phoenix Arts Commission loves our diversity of programming,” Moody said. “They said specifically they like what we’re doing with Noches Erotica.”

The show included the art of painter Eric Simmons and photographer Holly Shoemaker, who were recently married in the Alwun House. Their art was on display during the wedding, and happened to work well with the themes of Noches Erotica.

For four hours, artists painted the bodies of mostly nude models and audience members passed around a collection of sex toys and held a python while singers, poets, “sexologists” and actors performed onstage.

The night ended at midnight with a performance from male and female strippers armed with whipped cream.
