The last of a series of free public events will take place at the Civic Space Friday night, concluding a run of community-driven activities new to the city.

Four positions within the Residential Hall Association’s Executive Board at Taylor Place were left vacant at an election held on Monday for the upcoming academic year, after elections were postponed last week to increase student participation.

Civic Space Park officially opened on Thursday afternoon with a dedication ceremony held by Phoenix Mayor, Phil Gordon. Grand opening celebrations continued with a demonstration of the park’s light features later that night.

Results from the ASASUD Student Government Election were announced Monday, declaring journalism freshmen Tania Mendes and Beth Wischnia president and vice president (respectively) of the Downtown campus.
