Actor Greg Sestero played Mark in 2003 drama "The Room," which many find strange to the point of being laughable. Sestero visited Phoenix on Friday for an event that included a documentary about the making of the film and a reading from his book, “The Disaster Artist."

The event at Margaret T. Hance Park this weekend hosted activities such as crafts for kids and performances ranging from traditional Chinese dance to martial-arts displays.

Some attendees spent hours crafting the perfect costume. Others have made appearances in television shows such as Syfy's transformative makeup show "Face Off."
