Bud’s Glass Joint, a shop specializing in smoking products located on First Street just north of Roosevelt Street, fell victim to a robbery early Wednesday afternoon. An iPad valued at $300, which the store used as a credit card machine with a Square card reader, was stolen off of a display case inside the store.

“State of Deception: the Power of Nazi Propaganda,” a United States Holocaust Memorial Museum traveling exhibit, is currently on display at Burton Barr Central Library. The exhibit, which opened Feb. 20, had an opening reception Thursday.

Hosts Jayson Chesler and Miguel Otarola were joined by Arts and Entertainment editor Alex Scoville to discuss programs in the downtown Phoenix community that offer opportunities to learn about art and practice artistic expression. Discussion was sparked by classes starting at Revival Art Collective.

About 100 students and community members played games and drank coffee from Jobot at the Cronkite Coffee House performance and art show hosted by NLGJA Wednesday evening.

The Roosevelt Street Improvements Public Art Project will bring sustainable, solar-powered shade structures to three areas on Roosevelt Street: one on the east side of Carly’s Bistro on Second Street, one on the west side of The Nash on First Street and multiple in the right-of-way triangle between Third and Fourth streets.
