Ryan Gabrielson’s investigative reporting for California Watch on Fairview Developmental Center won him the newly developed Katherine Schneider Journalism Award for Excellence in Reporting on Disability.

Nonprofit organizations, like StreetLightUSA and Catholic Charities, help young girls in prostitution as an alternate to jail time. They provide services for the girls including therapy, rigorous classes, housing and medical treatment.

Construction on a four story, 266-unit apartment complex in Midtown called Elevation Central is slated to begin this December on the southwest corner of Central and Highland Avenues. Verdura Residential is the residential development company in charge of the complex, which will be located near two light rail stations - Campbell and Central, and Central and Camelback.

Music Together's music and movement classes are aimed at developing children’s social and motor skills. The music organization has classes in downtown Phoenix and the greater Valley area.

The Bar on Central is currently open to anyone 18 years or older once a week. Its College Night, which began in mid-October along with the bar's grand opening, happens every Wednesday starting at 10 p.m.
