The Barnum & Bailey show, titled “Built to Amaze!,” marked the twentieth time the circus has come to Phoenix. And though most of the entertainment was housed inside the U.S. Airways Center, there was still plenty of action happening outside the show.

A parade of elephants, a team of horses and a hoard of kids all collided in the US Airways Center last week to see “the Greatest Show on Earth.”

While downtown Phoenix has been known for its nightlife and workplace atmospheres, some stakeholders are attracting families with more kid-friendly events and attractions such as the MonOrchid Gallery with its first Family day.

The city of Phoenix will provide about 500 bikes and 45 to 55 locations to rent them by December, which has mixed reviews from the community.

Wednesday marked the Global Day of Discovery for Renaissance Hotels and Resorts. One hundred and fourteen Renaissance properties celebrated in 18 countries and 5 continents, the downtown Phoenix hotel included, according to a press release.
