The Downtown campus is headed in the right direction, and ASU administration, local businesses and downtown advocates are all continuing to work to make it better.

Molded by a middle-class Texas upbringing and an Ivy League graduate degree, Sean Sweat is a man of contradictions. He can act like an apologetically brash cowboy, but he’s a thoughtful, rising star in the emerging world of digital grassroots activism. He’s a white-collar worker – a supply-chain engineer at Intel – who fights Phoenix City Hall and battles urban blight. Now, he’s a leader in Occupy Phoenix, an offshoot of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

The Walter Cronkite School is open 24 hours a day Monday through Friday and offering snacks for students studying for finals.

Voting on the Downtown student government universal constitution and electoral code will be extended Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. because of technical issues that crashed MyASU Tuesday afternoon.

The Mercado, an outpost of the ASU Downtown campus, has grown steadily since the university started using it.
