Exhibition allows ASU scholars to present urban research findings

Emerging scholars at ASU gathered Friday evening at the Phoenix Urban Research Laboratory to present 10 five-minute-long presentations on urban issues. PURL Jam is an exhibition that brings together up-and-coming scholars from a variety of schools and disciplines at ASU to showcase innovative urban research that explores all matters of spatial, historical, and theoretical inquiry using visual methodology.

Organization hosts event to raise suicide awareness in LGBTQ community

Civic Space Park hosted a suicide awareness event organized by a Valley gay rights group Friday, featuring music and artwork from the LGBTQ community. The event 1n10 held its Sources of Strength Celebration as a suicide prevention training program designed to teach, train and reach lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, ages 14 to 24.

Skateboard competition captivates First Fridays audience

People flooded the parking lot on East Roosevelt and North Fourth streets to watch the Red Bull Triple Set competition, a component of First Fridays that saw more than 50 local and out-of-state skateboarders strive to win $1,500.
