Pedal Haus Brewery is the latest business to join the downtown Phoenix scene, despite a delayed opening.
On the day of what was supposed to be the “soft” opening, Pedal Haus was unable to get final inspections done on time. However, they had a pop-up at next-door neighbor, Kahvi Coffee & Cafe, where they offered complimentary beer and appetizers, in hopes of satisfying those who were expecting the Thursday night opening.
At the opening on Friday, guests walked down an alley to find Pedal Haus’s new location and were greeted by live music and Bailey Mosley, the brewery’s marketing manager.
The opening was received with lots of support from the public, as the brewery was crowded with guests. Mosley says they were expecting a decent crowd, and Friday did not disappoint.
“We’ve been promoting the opening and hanging out in the area, it’s been a long-anticipated process,” Mosley said.
Mosley gave a shout-out to the staff for being able to put up with the last-minute changes while getting everything together seamlessly.
“From staff to management to everyone in the kitchen, they’ve been working so hard, they’ve been incredible, they made this happen,” she said.

The brewery, owned by Julian Wright, began business in Tempe in September 2015.
Wright cited Pedal Haus as one of the few valley breweries that are an ASU football sponsor, as well as owned by ASU alumni.
“I’m very proud to be opening businesses in Tempe, Phoenix, and soon Mesa, that are close to the ASU campuses,” he said.
Near the end of 2019, Wright announced two more valley locations at their annual ugly sweater party. One location would be in Chandler and another in the downtown Phoenix area. He said he loved the walkability, as well as the eclectic energy that downtown Phoenix has.
One of the advantages that Pedal Haus has is its location.
Located right on Roosevelt Street, Pedal Haus will join in on the monthly fun that comes with First Friday.
“First Fridays are great. It’s part of the DNA here in downtown Phoenix,” Wright said. “It brings a lot of people down, and while people look around the various vendors, they’ll stumble along into new businesses like ours.”
In its six years of business, Pedal Haus has racked in over 30 awards from brewing festivals across the country, winning Gold at the Great American Beer Festival in 2018 and the Best Beer award at the Arizona Brewer’s Bowl the same year.
“The beer’s true to style,” Wright said.
PedalHaus Brewery is open seven days a week: Monday through Thursday having a 4 – 6 p.m. schedule, Fridays from 4 p.m. to midnight, Saturdays from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The happy hour special runs Monday through Thursday, ending at 6:30 p.m., and offers $2 off select drinks and starters.
