The sixth annual Ladies on Fire event took place at the Firehouse Gallery on Friday night.

The show opened with co-hosts Beth May, dressed as a man with a beard and muscles, and “Ernestina” (Ernesto Moncada’s drag persona), who was dressed as Frida Kahlo. The event showcased talents from musicians, poets, comedians, painters, hula-hoop dancers and more.

Unique De’Vine, a local hip-hop artist, performed from her new EP “Black Rose.” Poet Kharli Mandeville spoke passionately about the millennial generation and how they are often underestimated.

Kristina K. came out with an exotic belly dance and Lola & MarcDrastic sang a few acoustic songs including “Crazy for You.”

Kryas Hester displayed her artwork at the event and did a live painting. Towards the end of the night, fire dancing, nail beds and hula-hoop performances grasped the audience’s attention. Crystal Cruz performed with fire atop a bed of nails and Lia Fowler swallowed fire, walked on glass and stapled paper to her body.
