Focus. Flash. Phoenix: Locked In

I’ve been working for Undergraduate Student Government Downtown (USGD) since the fall of 2014 and plan to continue with my position for the 2015-2016 academic year. Since I’ve worked diligently with Corina Tapscott (center) and Ryan Boyd (right) for the past year as part of the executive board, I would like to disclaim any opinions or views reflected in this article.

The mood was light but serious on Thursday morning as Corina Tapscott and her executive ticket awaited the official results of the USGD election on Taylor Mall.

While the candidates were confident (this was the first time in years a ticket has run unopposed in USGD), I also saw a stern look of determination in their eyes, ready to officially get to work for the next year.

As they were waiting for the official results to arrive, I set my shutter speed to 1/120 of a second and an aperture of f/4.0 and moved to get the shot the second they opened the results.

What I got was not a look of surprise but a look of happiness as they knew their positions were officially locked in.
