Focus. Flash. Phoenix: Light trails

My assignment this week was to take a photo of light trails. As a freshman at the Walter Cronkite School, I wanted a photo that captured the busy and beautiful life of downtown Phoenix, my new home.

I walked around the area for a while, looking for a spot that showed off the city and the unique sculpture that lights up Civic Space Park (which, I recently learned, is named “Her Secret is Patience”). Patience was also my secret as I waited for the light rail to come by and give me a good shot. I set my shutter speed to 30 seconds, the aperture to f/22, tilted the camera a bit and came out with this.

Although it was difficult to get the hang of at first, I really enjoyed learning a new photography skill. Thank you, Courtney Pedroza, for all your help!
