Black Lives Matter Phoenix Metro, Poder in Action, Semillas AZ and Art Collective AZ hosted a peaceful protest at the Phoenix City Council Chambers Wednesday night for families impacted by police violence. People gathered outside the Council Chambers at 4 p.m. for an open mic where speakers and artists performed for protesters.

At the end of the open mic, the protesters would march from City Council Chambers to the Phoenix Police Department Headquarters, however, a group of Blue Lives Matter protesters had gathered, reportedly making death threats at the Black Lives Matter protest and the march was cancelled.

A small crowd of roughly 50 people, however, decided to march on their own from the Phoenix City Council Chambers to police headquarters.
