RevolutionParts replaces CO+HOOTS downtown as they leave for midtown

RevolutionParts, a startup e-commerce platform for auto dealers to sell parts, will be moving in as the sole occupants of the downtown location of Phoenix-based CO+HOOTS following the co-working space’s move to its new midtown location.

The downtown space will be considered a satellite of CO+HOOTS. All current members besides RevolutionParts will be moving to the midtown Phoenix location, though there will still be access to the downtown conference rooms.

RevolutionParts was a part of the CO+HOOTS space in 2013 as a four-person team but grew out of the space. Currently, it is based out of Tempe but is quickly outgrowing the space, which prompted the location change.

“We needed a space to grow,” said RevolutionParts co-founder Andreas Ronneseth.

The startup has about 400 parts dealers around North America. Its team has 27 members, a number they expect to double in the next two years.

During their search for a new space, the team heard about CO+HOOTS’ move to midtown and contacted CO+HOOTS about the possibility of RevolutionParts moving into the downtown space.

“We were looking at all kinds of spaces which honestly were more traditional, but I had a hard time finding a space that represented our company,” Ronneseth said.

According to Odeen Domingo, one of the founding members of CO+HOOTS, the move to midtown will have more room for growing companies like RevolutionParts. The new location will have approximately three times the space, including 20 offices.

“We want to support more people, entrepreneurs, more startups and more freelancers … Right now we’re limited by space,” Domingo said. “With our new space it’s three times the size of our current space, and with that we’ll be able to have 10 times the impact.”

Their five-year goal for the new location is to support 1,000 workers total in their membership pool. The current location has just over 200 members.

“We’re able to support a lot of companies that are one person or two people or three people, but for the companies that are four or five employees or up to 10 employees, there aren’t many places to go,” said Domingo.

This ability to expand is something Eric Lennox, a partner of Artifex10 Landscape, Design+Planning Worldwide is looking forward to. Artifex10 has been with CO+HOOTS since the start in 2010.

“We’re considering expanding, and the opportunity to have open spaces, open seating and conference tables, and the opportunity to expand into a bigger area but still stay in the idea of co-working is super to us,” said Lennox.

On top of allowing more members, CO+HOOTS plans to run more educational programs and include more people within them.

The new space will be the third space CO+HOOTS has been in in its five years as a company but the first building the company owns. Their lease at the downtown location will end in about two and a half years.

Domingo said they hope to help activate the area of midtown as they move in.

“Downtown still has some ways to go, but downtown is more active than it’s ever been,” Domingo said. “The next phase in re-urbanization of Phoenix is midtown. We not only want to be a part of that, we want to be a driver.”

RevolutionParts is looking forward to the benefits of being downtown.

“Downtown is starting to have a really good energy in general. Startups, and especially technology startups, are starting to choose downtown, so we’re looking forward to joining that community,” Ronneseth said.
