The railroad tracks just south of Jefferson Street in downtown Phoenix act as a sort of divide — new development seems to simply stop when you reach them. But as downtown continues to grow and the economy picks back up, developers are eyeing property farther south. Preservationists are keen on guarding the few remaining warehouses and reusing them. But recent projects show that often, some buildings are demolished for the sake of preserving others.

Hosts Annika Cline and Agnel Philip explore the warehouse district in search of answers about its future. They speak with business owners, city officials, preservationists and developers. They travel from the Luhrs Tower down to the Icehouse and many locations in between to ask: Can preservation and development coexist in the warehouse district?
