One pepper, two pepper, red pepper, green pepper!
Finally the heat was in the taste, not in the weather. One commodity was in mind: chili peppers.
Saturday was the annual Chili Pepper Festival on Roosevelt Street. Local food trucks and restaurants whipped up their finest pepper dishes, from green chili stew to green chili green apple pies.
With hungry voters making their rounds, restaurants and trucks presented their most unique and delicious chili pepper plates. Along with a general best dish contest was a best salsa contest.
Live entertainment at the event included the ghost pepper talent show hosted by Aaron Hopkins-Johnson, owner of Lawn Gnome Publishing
