Slide show: Independence Day celebration

Thousands of people braved the summer heat and gathered in and around Steele Indian Park Thursday night to celebrate Independence Day.

In the park, people viewed vintage cars and kids played in inflatable bouncing rooms while listening to a live show from Jed’s a Millionaire. Others gathered as far as half a mile away from the park to watch the fireworks.
