Spoken Boutique: An upscale alternative

In the world of William Rast, Black Halo and all other things couture, there exists a boutique called Spoken. Nestled quaintly between local eateries on Roosevelt, Spoken is one of downtown Phoenix’s most upscale and intimate boutiques, with available services like personal shopping and styling.

Co-owners Amber Dennison and Ann Jodi Mickelson take this assistance seriously, explaining that when they started this operation three and a half years ago they were looking to make everyone feel beautiful. Spoken carries sizes 0 to 12, a fact that Dennison stressed with an obvious certainty.

Typically, most boutiques carry smaller sizes, but Spoken has sizes for every figure looking to dress as a young professional in Eva Franco and LA Made. For more casual wears, the store carries Free People, a line that is dominated by today’s shabby chic fashion craze.

From a man’s perspective, Dennison and Mickelson try to avoid bringing anything bedazzled into the store, opting to dress their male clients in more of a “low-key” manner, in lines like 7Diamonds and Kinetix. The ladies’ hands-on approach to shopping is what makes them different from other boutiques in the downtown area, and with this approach Spoken is hoping to bring more downtown ASU students into their boutique.

Spoken is offering a 15 percent off discount to all ASU students, a deal which could certainly help knock a few dollars off of a new strappy Maj dress. Located on East Roosevelt and Sixth streets, Spoken is the upscale boutique to visit in the downtown Phoenix area for students and residents alike.
