Approximately 120 people attended the Startup Weekend Phoenix event that ran from Friday Oct. 22 through Sunday Oct. 24. Participants got together with local developers, marketers, designers and enthusiasts to start companies in just 54 hours.
Friday was reserved for pitching ideas, Saturday was building products and Sunday was building of the product and the final pitch.
There were 39 ideas introduced at the event. Some ideas included better websites for charter schools, virtual business cards for Facebook and iPhone, and Droid applications for public service announcements.
The people that proposed ideas where looking for software developers, investors, sales opportunities and lawyers.
Over half of those in attendance where promoting mobile applications ideas and other applications that utilized Facebook.
The event was held at CO+HOOTS located on the southeast corner of Roosevelt and Seventh streets.
