{9} the Gallery hosted an artist reception Friday evening with the artists featured in their monthly exhibition that opened on Sept. 5. The gallery, located at Grand Avenue and McKinley Street, featured contemporary artists Dino Paul and Mikey Jackson, whose works encompass very different styles, but both use women as a focal point.

Coinciding with their first birthday, the Arizona Artist Collective has started collaborating with {9} the Gallery. The collective works with artists through workshops and provides resources to help them make their art into a business.

A romantic, forbidden love-themed fashion show at {9} the Gallery depicted famous couples, both fictional and nonfictional. The show was developed by Ty Jones, an assistant at {9} the Gallery.

Hosts Jayson Chesler and Miguel Otarola were joined by Domenico Nicosia for this episode. Several of February's First Friday events were previewed, including Five15 Arts' "I'll Show You Mine If You Show Me Yours" and The Pseudo Science Show at Bragg's Pie Factory's Frontal Lobe Gallery.

{9} The Gallery, located on Grand Avenue, hosted the first Fridays at {9} show that featured the work of local painters, poets, rappers and other artists.

A poet whose work has been adapted into film and a poet who adapted his work from film gave readings Friday at {9} the Gallery as part of the Phoenix Poetry Series. The series, kicking off its eighth year, featured old and new poems from local poets James Sallis and R.S. Mengert.

Jon Linton aims to show the public the stories of homeless men and women that are often ignored through the power of his photography. His project, called I Have a Name, has gained a following online and will make a debut at {9} The Gallery on December First Friday.
