Late last night, community members gathered at First Church UCC Phoenix to remember the lives of transgender people who have died this past year due to transphobic violence for the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance. During the vigil, some in attendance spoke about their experiences and read aloud the names of the 311 victims who have died in 2019. This was a tense event, and those in attendance did not want their faces shown or names used.
