Live Music Mondays

Where: Cambria Hotel Downtown Phoenix at 222 E. Portland St.
When: Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., or Thursday, Nov. 11 at 6 – 8 p.m.
Cost: Free
More live music? More live music. On Wednesdays, enjoy piano in the lobby of the hotel. Or if electric guitar is more your thing, come on Thursday nights. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
AZ Speaks: ‘From ‘Chief’ to Code Talker: Four Profiles of the Navajo Code Talkers’ with Laura Tohe
Where: Online event
When: Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 6 – 7 p.m.
Cost: Free
During this event cohosted by Arizona Humanities and the Phoenix Public Library, Navajo Nation Poet Laureate Laura Tohe will talk about the impact of the Navajo Code Talkers during World War II and beyond.
Phoenix Veterans Day Parade
Where: View the parade route
When: Thursday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.
Cost: Free
Veterans Day is on Thursday. North of downtown Phoenix, the parade starts at Montebello and Central runs southbound, then turns east on Camelback Road, and then turns south on 7th Street.
50th Anniversary Heartsong Poetry Night
Where: Alwun House at 1204 E. Roosevelt St.
When: Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
Cost: Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door
Hosted by Phoenix’ Poet Laureate Rosemarie Dombrowski and Ernesto Moncado, the event will feature spoken word performances.
Phoenix Pizza Festival
Where: Margaret T. Hance Park at 67 W. Culver St.
When: Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 13-14 at 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Cost: $12 tickets, $2-4 dining options
In pizza, we crust. Enjoy pizza galore from a variety of vendors at Hance Park. Be sure to save us a slice.
