Artist Nao Matsunaga’s mixed media, ceramics, paper and sculpted works are a reflection of cactus and dust experiences, inspired by Matsunaga’s experience with desert landscapes during his time at the Combine Studios International Artist Residency facility in downtown Phoenix and Arizona State University’s ceramics space. The works combine ancient Native American vibes with modern practices over multiple mediums to create a full and multidimensional sense in the exhibit.
