Luana’s Coffee and Beer opens in former Hob Nob’s Cafe building

Aaron Schofield, the owner of Luana’s Coffee and Beer, opened his coffee shop, restaurant and bar at Third Avenue and McDowell Road. The location was formerly home to Hob Nob’s Cafe and Spirits, where Schofield got his start in the coffee business.

He started out operating a mobile coffee cart called Luana’s Coffee Yard, with the goal to eventually move into a permanent location. After growing up in Peoria and operating his coffee cart in the West Valley, he wanted to move his business to downtown Phoenix, where he felt he would fit in better. He got his chance in January, opening his storefront location late in the month.
