The Joe and Jan Show

Recommended if you like: Steve Benson, caricature art, absurdism

It all started with Eric Cox’s painting of Sheriff Joe Arpaio wearing a cowboy hat, which first gained attention at October’s “Chaos Theory.” For curator Robrt Pela, the idea expanded into an entire show of politically motivated portraits. “The Joe and Jan Show,” originally slated to premiere last month at Willo North Gallery, was cancelled three days before opening night and found a new home at 335 Commons. Among the other 11 artists featured are Kristin Bauer, Paul Wilson, Melissa McGurgan and Chris Swanberg.
