Ever since its ceremonial inception in the beginning of October last year, the Nash jazz club on Roosevelt Street has put on free shows by in-house musicians during the monthly art walk. This Friday, a trio led by young pianist Chris Pena will perform jazz standards across the entire spectrum of the broad genre. These loosely structured jams will combine the improvisational techniques of the musicians with well-known jazz melodies. The trio will be sure to create moments of music euphoria, pushing the boundaries of time and structure. The Nash will also house a “Rhythm and Motion” art show during the concert, featuring the artwork of 11 Valley artists.
